Service and security

Vercel hosts this service and processes technical request data, including IP addresses, browser information and request URLs. We process security events and anonymous API sessions to operate the website, prevent abuse and troubleshoot errors. Traffic providers receive server requests; they do not receive your browser visit through our traffic API.

Optional measurement

Only after analytics consent, Google Analytics 4 (G-BXX9547XC8), Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights measure page usage, interactions and performance. Our page-view code removes query strings and fragments. The visit counters gotthard_visit_count and gotthard_session_ts use local storage only after consent. We do not describe analytics identifiers as anonymous personal data.

Consent and advertising

Clickio manages consent choices and stores evidence of those choices. Google AdSense may load on article pages after the required consent signal. Google and consented advertising partners may process identifiers, device data and advertising interactions. The consent panel lists the purposes and vendors. Analytics is optional and is not needed to view live traffic.

Maps, webcams and preferences

Google Maps connects to Google only when you choose to load the interactive map. Webcam images are requested through our proxy where configured; directly linked sources receive technical request data. Direction, language, traffic history and notification preferences may be saved locally to provide requested features. Notifications work while this site is open. Sharing buttons open the selected external service when clicked.

Storage and retention

Local preferences and traffic history remain on your device until overwritten or cleared. Visit counters are removed when analytics consent is denied or withdrawn. Anonymous API tokens expire after five minutes. The verified Google Analytics settings retain event data for two months and user data for fourteen months, with the user-retention period reset by new activity. Aggregated reports have separate retention. Other consent records and hosting logs follow provider settings; contact us for details or deletion.

Recipients and international processing

Our providers include Vercel, Clickio and Google. Processing may take place outside Switzerland or the EEA, including in the United States, under the providers’ applicable contractual and transfer arrangements. Your choices and rights

Use the privacy choices link on this website to accept, reject or change optional consent. Withdrawal stops future optional measurement and removes our first-party analytics counters and accessible GA cookies; it does not erase data already received by providers. You may request access, correction or deletion and exercise other rights under applicable Swiss data-protection law and, where applicable, the GDPR. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve personalized ads based on visits across the Internet. You can reject or withdraw optional consent using the privacy settings control. You can also opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or the industry opt-out service below.
