Route comparison

Timing uses the same lightweight assumptions already used on the site: the tunnel reflects live delay, alternatives stay at base estimates.

Quick questions

Three fast answers for reading the dashboard properly.

Which queue actually matters for my trip?
For southbound traffic, the key queue is at the north portal in Goeschenen. For northbound traffic, it is the south portal in Airolo.
When does San Bernardino become genuinely interesting?
Usually once the live Gotthard delay is close to, or higher than, the extra driving time of the diversion.
Why are alternative-route times more conservative?
Because the project has the strongest live coverage for the Gotthard itself. Alternatives are shown as practical comparisons, not as full live traffic tracking.
