Two-phase construction project on the A2 Quinto–Airolo: • Phase 1 (January 2025 – April 2026): CUPRA overpass structure, Stalvedro underpass extension, new retaining walls and slip road. • Phase 2 (Spring 2026 – Autumn 2026): bridge renovation in the Sort area. The preferential lane will open when the Alpine passes reopen in summer 2026 and will be closed each winter. ASTRA states that most of the construction work was carried out without disruption to traffic. The Stalvedro service area and its car park remain accessible throughout the works. Total cost: approximately CHF 28 million (Swiss Confederation).
