After opening, the pass attracts motorcyclists and tourists, especially in good weather. FEDRO expects the pass to ease pressure on the A2 corridor during Ascension and Pentecost.

With the pass open, some tourist traffic can avoid the tunnel. Queues on the pass road are usually local and short, but remaining snow and alpine weather call for caution.
The 2025/26 winter closure has been lifted. The next seasonal closure is usually expected in November, depending on the first heavy snowfalls.
